Asian Sesame Broccoli and Carrot Slaw
Course Side Dish
Cuisine Asian
- 4 cups broccoli florets, thinly sliced
- 2 large carrots, shredded
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
Place the sliced broccoli florets and shredded carrots in a large mixing bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth.
Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until everything is evenly coated.
Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the slaw and give it one final gentle toss before serving.
Toss the slaw no more than an hour before serving to keep the broccoli at its crispiest. If you need to make it earlier, store the dressing separately and combine everything on site. A light extra sprinkle of sesame seeds right before guests arrive adds visual appeal without changing the flavor balance.
