Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Large bowl
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Place the chicken wings in a large bowl and drizzle with the olive oil.
  • Sprinkle the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper over the wings, then toss until every piece is evenly coated.
  • Spread the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the sheet from the oven.
  • Brush the wings generously with the barbecue sauce on all sides.
  • Return the sheet to the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes until the sauce is sticky and the wings are cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Toss the wings in the seasoning right before baking so the spices stick without clumping. If you want a deeper color, switch to a dark molasses-based barbecue sauce. Leftovers reheat well in a 350°F oven for 8 minutes to bring back some crispness without drying out the meat.
