Charcuterie board
Small sieve
Knife
- 12 black licorice ropes
- 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
- 8 ounces dark chocolate squares
- 1 cup chocolate-covered almonds
- 1/2 cup black jelly beans
- 6 chocolate bat cookies
Place a large wooden board on the counter. Cut six black licorice ropes in half lengthwise to create wing shapes.
Arrange the cut licorice pieces on the board in two groups to form bat wings, leaving space in the center for other items.
Put the dark chocolate squares in a small pile near one wing and the chocolate-covered almonds near the other.
Scatter the black jelly beans around the edges of the board to fill gaps.
Place the chocolate bat cookies between the two wing shapes.
Use a small sieve to dust the entire board lightly with dark cocoa powder, focusing on the licorice and chocolate pieces.
Cut the licorice just before arranging so the pieces stay flexible. If the cocoa powder clumps, tap the sieve gently instead of shaking it hard. Swap the almonds for dark chocolate raisins if you want a softer bite.
