Bat Wing Chicken Skewers
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Skillet
  • Wooden skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 8 wooden skewers, soaked in water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Place the chicken strips in a mixing bowl. Add the soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Stir until every strip is coated. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes.
  • Thread the marinated chicken strips onto the soaked skewers. Leave a small space between pieces so they cook evenly.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the skewers in the pan and cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side until the chicken is no longer pink inside.
  • Remove the skewers from the heat and sprinkle them with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Soak the skewers well to keep the ends from burning in the skillet. If the honey soy mix tastes too strong, add a splash of water to the marinade before coating the chicken. These skewers travel well in a covered tray and can be served at room temperature at a potluck.
