Black Cat Blackberry Lemonade Float
Course Drink
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Pitcher
  • Ice cream scoop
  • Glasses

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 cups prepared lemonade
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra blackberries for garnish

Instructions

  • Mash the blackberries with the sugar in a bowl until the berries release their juice and form a thick puree.
  • Stir the blackberry puree into the lemonade in a pitcher until the color turns a deep purple.
  • Place one scoop of vanilla ice cream into each of four tall glasses.
  • Add a handful of ice cubes to each glass.
  • Pour the blackberry lemonade over the ice cream until the glasses are nearly full.
  • Top each drink with a few extra blackberries for garnish.

Notes

Chill the lemonade and glasses ahead of time so the ice cream stays firm longer after pouring. If the blackberries taste very tart, add an extra teaspoon of sugar to the puree before mixing. Skip the ice cubes if you prefer a thicker float with more emphasis on the creamy layer.
