Black Cat Fig and Goat Cheese Board
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Charcuterie board
  • Cheese knife
  • Small spoon

Ingredients

  • 8 oz goat cheese log
  • 8 fresh figs, halved
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 4 oz prosciutto slices
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 20 dark rye crackers
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary

Instructions

  • Place the goat cheese log in the center of a large board and gently press it into an oval shape to form the cat body.
  • Arrange the dark rye crackers in a curved line around the cheese to outline the cat silhouette.
  • Position halved figs along the top of the cheese to create ears and a tail shape extending to one side.
  • Fill in the outline with blackberries, pressing them lightly into place to define the cat face and body.
  • Tuck prosciutto slices around the edges of the board in loose folds.
  • Scatter walnuts in small clusters near the prosciutto.
  • Drizzle honey over the goat cheese and figs just before serving.
  • Add rosemary sprigs at the base of the board to resemble whiskers.

Notes

Use a dark wood or black slate board to make the cat shape stand out more clearly. If blackberries are out of season, swap in dark grapes without changing the overall look. Keep the board covered in the fridge for up to two hours before guests arrive, then add the honey drizzle right before serving so it stays glossy.
