Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Microwave-safe bowl

Ingredients

  • 20 Oreo cookies
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 10 ounces black candy melts
  • 16 candy eyes
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Place 16 Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they form fine crumbs. Set the remaining 4 cookies aside for ears.
  • Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and stir in the softened cream cheese until the mixture holds together.
  • Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and roll each into a smooth ball. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Melt the black candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  • Dip each chilled ball into the melted candy melts, letting excess drip off, and return to the baking sheet. Immediately press two candy eyes onto each truffle.
  • Cut each reserved Oreo cookie into quarters to create 8 triangle ears. Press two triangles into the top of each truffle while the coating is still soft.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips and use a toothpick to draw small whiskers on each truffle. Let the truffles set at room temperature until firm.

Notes

Work with the candy melts while they stay fluid, and reheat briefly if they start to thicken during dipping. Store the finished truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. Bring them to room temperature for 10 minutes before serving so the centers soften slightly.
