Mixing Bowl
Measuring Cups
Shot Glasses
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 (3-ounce) package blackberry gelatin
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 1/2 cup cold blackberry juice
- 8 thin strips black licorice
- 8 fresh blackberries
Pour the boiling water into a mixing bowl and add the blackberry gelatin. Stir until the gelatin fully dissolves.
Add the vodka and cold blackberry juice to the bowl. Stir until the mixture is smooth and combined.
Divide the liquid evenly among 4 shot glasses. Place the glasses in the refrigerator to set for at least 4 hours.
Once the jello has set, cut each black licorice strip into small wing shapes and press two pieces gently onto the top of each shot.
Add one fresh blackberry beside the licorice wings on each shot before serving.
Chill the blackberry juice ahead so the mixture cools faster before it goes into the fridge. If the licorice feels too stiff to shape, warm it briefly between your fingers to make cutting easier. These shots hold well in the fridge for up to two days if covered tightly with plastic wrap.
