Bloody Finger Meatball Sliders
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Small pan

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slider rolls
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 8 almond slivers

Instructions

  • Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until evenly combined. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each one into a finger about 3 inches long. Use a knife to press two shallow lines across the middle of each finger for knuckles. Press one almond sliver into the tip of each finger to form a nail. Place the fingers on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes until cooked through. Warm the marinara sauce in a small pan over low heat. Split the slider rolls, add one meatball finger to each roll, and spoon marinara sauce over the top.

Notes

Shape the meatballs while the mixture is still cold so the fingers hold their form better during baking. Warm the rolls briefly in the oven right before assembly to keep them from getting soggy under the sauce. Leftovers reheat well in a 350 degree oven for five minutes with a little extra sauce spooned on top.
