Caramel Apple Old Fashioned
Course Drink
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glasses

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces bourbon
  • 4 ounces apple cider
  • 2 ounces caramel syrup
  • 8 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Caramel sauce for rimming
  • 4 thin apple slices

Instructions

  • Rub the rim of four rocks glasses with caramel sauce and set them aside. Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes. Pour the bourbon, apple cider, caramel syrup, and bitters into the mixing glass. Stir the mixture for 20 seconds until it is well chilled. Strain the drink into the prepared glasses over fresh ice. Garnish each glass with one apple slice.

Notes

Chill the apple cider ahead of time so the drink needs less stirring. Use a thicker caramel sauce for the rims to keep it from running down the glass. If the caramel flavor feels too strong, add an extra half ounce of apple cider per serving to balance it.
