Cauldron Caramel Apple Nachos
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Knife
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples, cored and cut into wedges
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crushed pretzels
  • 2 tablespoons candy corn pieces
  • 1 tablespoon Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  • Slice the apples into even wedges and arrange them in a single overlapping layer on a large serving platter or shallow black bowl.
  • Warm the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 seconds until it pours easily, then drizzle half of it over the apple wedges.
  • Place the chocolate chips in the same bowl and microwave in 15-second bursts, stirring between each, until fully melted. Drizzle the chocolate over the caramel layer.
  • Scatter the crushed pretzels and candy corn pieces evenly across the top.
  • Finish with a light sprinkle of Halloween sprinkles. Serve right away while the sauces are still warm.

Notes

Warm both the caramel and chocolate just until pourable so they cling to the cold apple slices without sliding off. If the apples start to brown before serving, give them a quick squeeze of lemon juice before arranging. Leftovers lose crunch fast, so this dish is best eaten within an hour of assembly.
