Cauldron-Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 12 jalapeño peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly mixed.
  • Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them level with the top edge.
  • Place the filled peppers on the prepared baking sheet and lightly brush the tops with olive oil.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the peppers soften and the filling turns lightly golden on top.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese so the filling mixes smoothly without lumps. If you want less heat, remove all the white ribs inside the peppers before stuffing. These reheat well in a 350-degree oven for five minutes if made ahead.
