Rocks glasses
- 8 ounces tequila
- 4 ounces cherry liqueur
- 4 ounces sweet vermouth
- 2 ounces vanilla syrup
- Ice
- 4 fresh cherries for garnish
Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
Pour in the tequila, cherry liqueur, sweet vermouth, and vanilla syrup.
Stir with a bar spoon for 20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
Strain the drink into four rocks glasses filled with fresh ice.
Drop one fresh cherry into each glass as garnish.
Make the vanilla syrup ahead by gently heating equal parts sugar and water with a split vanilla bean, then cool and store it in the fridge for up to two weeks. Stir the drink longer if you prefer less dilution. Swap in a cherry-flavored vodka for one ounce if you want a brighter fruit note without changing the overall balance.
