Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground turkey with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the turkey is no longer pink. Drain any excess liquid.
Transfer the turkey mixture to the slow cooker. Add the white beans, diced green chilies, chicken broth, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until the flavors have blended and the chili has thickened slightly.
About 30 minutes before the chili is done, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, milk, egg, vegetable oil, and honey until a smooth batter forms.
Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cut into squares and serve warm with the chili.
