Saucepan
Mixing spoon
Shot glasses
- 1 (3 oz) box watermelon flavored gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup Red Hots candies
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 1/4 cup cold water
Place the Red Hots candies in a saucepan with the boiling water. Heat over medium, stirring until the candies fully dissolve.
Remove the pan from heat and stir in the watermelon gelatin until it dissolves completely.
Add the cold water and vodka. Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
Pour the liquid into shot glasses, filling each about three-quarters full.
Refrigerate the shots for at least four hours until they are fully set.
Crush any stubborn Red Hots with the back of a spoon while they melt to speed up the process. If the mixture tastes too spicy, add an extra tablespoon of cold water before chilling. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to two days.
