Eyeball Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Glaze
Course Appetizer
Cuisine Italian
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Wooden skewers
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 12 small mozzarella balls
  • 12 fresh basil leaves
  • 12 pitted black olives
  • ΒΌ cup balsamic glaze
  • 12 small wooden skewers

Instructions

  • Slice each black olive into thin rings. Set the rings aside to use as pupils.
  • Place one mozzarella ball on a cutting board. Press one olive ring gently onto the center of each mozzarella ball to create the eyeball effect.
  • Thread one cherry tomato onto a skewer, followed by one basil leaf and one prepared mozzarella ball. Repeat until all skewers are assembled.
  • Arrange the finished skewers on a serving plate.
  • Drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the skewers just before serving.

Notes

Assemble the skewers up to two hours ahead and keep them covered in the fridge. Add the balsamic glaze right before guests arrive so it stays glossy. If you need more servings, simply double the ingredients and use longer platters to keep the eyeballs visible.
