Frankenstein Avocado Toast Bites
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Toaster
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 black olives

Instructions

  • Toast the bread slices until they reach a light golden color. Let them cool for one minute.
  • Cut each slice into three rectangles to create 12 bite-sized pieces total.
  • Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  • Squeeze the lime over the avocado. Add the salt and black pepper. Mash everything together until the mixture is mostly smooth with a few small chunks.
  • Spread a layer of the avocado mixture onto each toast rectangle.
  • Slice six olives in half lengthwise to make eyes. Place two halves on each bite. Slice the remaining olives into thin strips and arrange them as bolts on the sides and stitches across the top.

Notes

Use firm bread so the bites hold their shape when guests pick them up. If the avocado mixture seems thick, add a few extra drops of lime juice to loosen it. Prepare the avocado spread just before serving to keep the color bright.
