Cocktail shaker
Mugs
Bar spoon
- 8 ounces gin
- 4 ounces molasses
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 24 ounces ginger beer
- Ice cubes
- 4 lime slices
Add the gin, molasses, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon to a cocktail shaker. Shake for 15 seconds until the molasses fully dissolves into the gin.
Fill four mugs with ice cubes.
Divide the gin mixture evenly among the four mugs.
Slowly pour 6 ounces of ginger beer into each mug.
Stir each drink gently with a bar spoon, then add one lime slice to each mug.
Use robust molasses for the deepest gingerbread taste, and shake the molasses with the gin right before serving so the texture stays smooth. If the drink feels too sweet, add an extra squeeze from the lime slice. Copper mugs help keep the ginger beer colder longer, but any sturdy glass works fine.
