Course Snack
Cuisine American
Mixing bowl
Saucepan
Shot glasses
- 2 packets unflavored gelatin
- 1 cup tonic water
- 1 cup lemonade
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Sprinkle the gelatin over half the tonic water in a mixing bowl and let it sit for two minutes to bloom.
Heat the remaining tonic water with the sugar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Do not let the mixture boil.
Pour the hot tonic water into the bloomed gelatin and stir until fully dissolved.
Stir in the lemonade until the mixture is smooth and combined.
Divide the liquid evenly among eight small shot glasses or molds.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours until firm.
Serve under a blacklight so the tonic water glows.
Use a standard yellow lemonade for the clearest color and brightest glow. If the mixture tastes too tart after chilling, add a small pinch more sugar before the final chill. Keep the shots covered in the fridge until ready to serve so they stay firm.
