Graveyard Dirt Pudding Cups with Chocolate Cookies
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Rolling pin
  • Cups

Ingredients

  • 1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 16 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 4 rectangular chocolate cookies

Instructions

  • Pour the cold milk into a mixing bowl and add the instant chocolate pudding mix. Whisk for two minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • Place 12 chocolate sandwich cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they form coarse crumbs.
  • Spoon a layer of pudding into the bottom of each of four small cups. Add a layer of crushed cookies on top. Repeat the layers once more.
  • Finish each cup with a dollop of whipped topping. Press one rectangular chocolate cookie upright into the topping of each cup to resemble a tombstone.

Notes

Crush the cookies just before assembling so they stay crisp rather than turning soggy in the pudding. The rectangular cookies stand best when pushed gently into the whipped topping right before serving. Store the assembled cups in the refrigerator for up to one day if you need to prepare them ahead of the party.
