Graveyard Layered Taco Dip
Course Appetizer
Cuisine Mexican
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • 8x8 Baking Dish
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 rectangular crackers
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro

Instructions

  • Stir the refried beans and taco seasoning together in a mixing bowl until evenly combined.
  • Spread the bean mixture evenly across the bottom of an 8x8 serving dish.
  • Spoon the sour cream over the beans and smooth it into an even layer.
  • Add the guacamole as the next layer and spread it gently to cover the sour cream.
  • Spread the salsa over the guacamole.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese across the top to cover the salsa.
  • Press the rectangular crackers upright into the cheese layer to stand as tombstones.
  • Scatter the sliced black olives around the base of the crackers and finish with the chopped cilantro.

Notes

Assemble the dip up to a day ahead and add the crackers just before serving so they stay crisp. If the sour cream layer feels too thick to spread, let it sit at room temperature for ten minutes first. Swap the cilantro for sliced green onions if you prefer a milder herb note on top.
