Honey Glazed Ham Sliders with Poppy Seed Butter
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 8 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 ounces sliced deli ham
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a small baking dish that will hold the sliders snugly.
  • Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in the prepared dish.
  • Layer the sliced ham evenly over the bottom buns, folding pieces as needed so they cover the surface.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the honey, 2 tablespoons of the butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
  • Spoon or brush the honey mixture over the ham layer.
  • Replace the top halves of the buns and press down gently so they sit evenly.
  • Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and stir in the poppy seeds. Brush this mixture over the tops of the buns.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake 5 minutes more until the tops are lightly golden.

Notes

Slice the sliders into individual portions right before serving so the glaze stays on each piece. If you need to transport them, keep the foil on during the drive and reheat uncovered for a few minutes once you arrive. The poppy seed butter can be mixed ahead and stored in the fridge, then warmed slightly before brushing so it spreads easily.
