Honey Sriracha Chicken Thighs with Steamed Broccoli
Course Main Course
Cuisine Asian
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Steamer Basket or Microwave

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the honey, sriracha, soy sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours until the chicken is tender.
  • About 10 minutes before serving, place the broccoli florets in a steamer basket over a pot of boiling water or in the microwave with a splash of water. Steam until bright green and crisp-tender.
  • Serve the chicken thighs with the steamed broccoli on the side.

Notes

Steam the broccoli just until it turns bright green so it stays firm next to the saucy chicken. If you prefer less heat, start with 2 tablespoons of sriracha and add more at the end after tasting the sauce. Leftovers reheat well in the microwave with a splash of water to loosen the sauce.
