Melon Mint and Elderflower Shots
Course Drink
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Shot Glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup tonic water
  • 1/2 cup honeydew melon juice
  • 1/4 cup elderflower liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 4 small mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Sprinkle the gelatin over the tonic water in a small saucepan. Let it sit for one minute to bloom.
  • Warm the mixture over low heat while stirring until the gelatin fully dissolves. Remove the pan from heat.
  • Stir in the honeydew melon juice, elderflower liqueur, and chopped mint leaves until evenly combined.
  • Divide the liquid among four shot glasses. Place the glasses in the refrigerator for at least two hours until the shots set.
  • Top each shot with a mint sprig just before serving.

Notes

Chill the honeydew juice ahead so the mixture cools faster after the gelatin melts. If the flavor tastes too sweet, add a small squeeze of lime to the liquid before chilling. These shots hold well in the fridge for up to one day, though the mint garnish is best added right before serving.
