Mummy Hot Dogs in Crescent Rolls
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Oven
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 4 all-beef hot dogs
  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent dough on a cutting board and press the seams together to form a single sheet.
  • Cut the dough into thin strips about half an inch wide.
  • Wrap the strips around each hot dog, leaving a small gap near one end for the face.
  • Place the wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the dough turns golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
  • Use a small amount of yellow mustard to draw two dots on each hot dog for eyes.

Notes

Cut the dough strips evenly so the mummies look neat when wrapped. If the dough feels sticky, dust your hands lightly with flour before handling. These taste best served slightly warm or at room temperature, which works well for a party table. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in a 300-degree oven for a few minutes to restore crispness.
