Mummy Wrapped Cinnamon Rolls
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 4 refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 small chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Open the cinnamon rolls and place all four on the prepared sheet, leaving space between them.
  • Open the crescent roll dough and cut it into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide.
  • Wrap the strips around each cinnamon roll in a crisscross pattern, leaving small gaps so the roll shows through like mummy bandages.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the rolls are golden and the dough strips are lightly browned.
  • Let the rolls cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle the included icing over the top in thin lines.
  • Press two chocolate chips into the icing on each roll to create eyes.

Notes

If the crescent strips break while wrapping, just press the ends down firmly so they stay in place during baking. The rolls taste best warm the same day, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated for 10 seconds in the microwave to soften the icing again. Skip the chocolate chips if you prefer to keep decorations edible with just the icing.
