Mummy Wrapped Sausage Bites
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
- 12 cocktail sausages
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the crescent roll dough on a cutting board and press the seams together to form one sheet.
Cut the dough into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide.
Wrap each cocktail sausage with dough strips, leaving small gaps between the strips to create the mummy bandage effect.
Place the wrapped sausages on the baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the dough is golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Use a toothpick dipped in yellow mustard to add two small dots on each sausage for eyes.
Wrap the dough loosely so the mummy stripes stay visible after baking. A tiny dab of mustard works best for the eyes once the bites have cooled a bit. Serve them with a side of ketchup for dipping if the kids want extra flavor.
