Pineapple Kiwi Basil Shots
Course Drink
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Shot glasses

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 (3-ounce) package lime gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1/4 cup cold water

Instructions

  • Place the chopped kiwi, basil leaves, and pineapple juice in a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and the basil is fully broken down.
  • Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a measuring cup to remove any pulp or leaf bits. Set the strained liquid aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the lime gelatin to the boiling water and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  • Stir in the strained kiwi-basil-pineapple liquid, the cold water, and the vodka until everything is evenly combined.
  • Divide the mixture among 8 small shot glasses. Place the glasses in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours until the shots are fully set.

Notes

Strain the blended base well so the shots stay clear and bright green. If you want a stronger basil taste, let the leaves steep in the pineapple juice for 10 minutes before blending. Keep the shots refrigerated until serving to maintain their firm texture.
