Poison Apple Pomegranate Ginger Shots
Course Drink
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Shot glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup vodka

Instructions

  • Combine the pomegranate juice, apple cider, and grated ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Warm the mixture until it just begins to steam, then remove it from the heat.
  • Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the warm liquid and whisk until fully dissolved with no lumps remaining.
  • Let the mixture cool for five minutes, then stir in the vodka until evenly combined.
  • Divide the liquid among eight small shot glasses or molds. Place them in the refrigerator and chill until fully set, about four hours.

Notes

Grate the ginger finely so it releases flavor without leaving noticeable pieces in the finished shots. If the ginger taste feels too strong after tasting the warm base, reduce it by half next time. These shots hold well in the fridge for up to two days if covered with plastic wrap.
