Poisoned Candy Corn Trifle
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Trifle Glasses or Dish
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups prepared vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup candy corn, divided
  • 1 cup heavy cream, whipped to stiff peaks
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

  • Place a layer of pound cake cubes in the bottom of four small trifle glasses or one medium dish.
  • Spoon half of the vanilla pudding over the cake layer and spread it evenly.
  • Scatter half of the candy corn over the pudding.
  • Add another layer of pound cake cubes on top of the candy corn.
  • Spread the remaining vanilla pudding over the second cake layer.
  • Top with the whipped cream and the rest of the candy corn.
  • Drizzle the melted dark chocolate chips over the top just before serving.

Notes

Whip the cream right before assembling so it stays light. If you prepare the trifle in advance, add the final candy corn and chocolate drizzle at the last minute to keep the candy from softening. Use store-bought pound cake and pudding to keep the steps simple.
