Cocktail shaker
Margarita glasses
Small plate
Jigger
- 8 ounces tequila
- 6 ounces pomegranate juice
- 2 ounces fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce triple sec
- 2 tablespoons agave syrup
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Ice cubes
- Pomegranate seeds for garnish
- Thin chili slices for garnish
Mix the chili powder and kosher salt on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rims of four margarita glasses and dip each rim into the chili-salt mixture.
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour in the tequila, pomegranate juice, lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup.
Secure the lid and shake hard for 15 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
Strain the mixture evenly into the prepared glasses filled with fresh ice.
Drop a few pomegranate seeds into each glass and add one or two thin chili slices on top for garnish.
Taste the mix before shaking and add a little more agave if your pomegranate juice runs very tart. The chili slices give a visual kick without making every sip too hot, so remove them after a few minutes if you prefer milder heat.
