Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 (14-inch) pizza dough
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce, divided
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1½ cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ¼ cup roasted pumpkin seeds

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 450°F and place the pizza dough on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
  • Stir together ¾ cup BBQ sauce and the pumpkin puree in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Spread the pumpkin-BBQ mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Toss the shredded chicken with the remaining ¼ cup BBQ sauce, then scatter it over the sauce layer.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top, covering the chicken evenly.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and finish with green onions and roasted pumpkin seeds.

Notes

Roasted pumpkin seeds keep their crunch best when added right after baking. If the chicken is cold from the fridge, warm it briefly in the microwave with a splash of BBQ sauce so it heats through in the short bake time. Leftovers reheat well in a 350°F oven for 8 minutes to restore crispness to the crust.
