Pumpkin-Shaped Herbed Cheese Ball with Crackers
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Serving Plate

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika, plus extra for coating
  • 1 pretzel stick
  • Assorted crackers, for serving

Instructions

  • Place the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, parsley, chives, garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp paprika in a mixing bowl. Stir until the ingredients are evenly combined and the mixture holds together.
  • Scoop the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Use your hands to shape it into a smooth round ball.
  • Sprinkle the extra paprika over the ball and roll it gently until the surface is fully coated for the pumpkin color.
  • Set the ball on a serving plate. Push the pretzel stick straight into the top center to form the stem.
  • Arrange the crackers around the cheese ball and serve.

Notes

Shape the cheese ball the day before and keep it wrapped in the fridge. Add the paprika coating and pretzel stem right before guests arrive so the color stays vivid. Swap in different cracker styles, such as whole grain or seeded, to change the crunch without altering the cheese mixture.
