Mixing bowl
Saucepan
Shot glasses
- 1 package (3 oz) cranberry gelatin mix
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons whipped cream cheese
Pour the cranberry gelatin mix and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl. Add the boiling water and stir until both the gelatin and cocoa are fully dissolved.
Stir in the cranberry juice until the mixture is smooth and uniform in color.
Add the vodka and mix well to combine.
Divide the liquid evenly among four small cups or shot glasses.
Chill the cups in the refrigerator for at least four hours until the shots are fully set.
Top each set shot with one tablespoon of whipped cream cheese before serving.
Chill the shots overnight if you want a firmer texture that holds up better on a buffet table. The cocoa can be increased slightly for a stronger chocolate note, but keep it under three tablespoons or the shots may taste bitter. Use full-sugar gelatin rather than sugar-free so the shots release cleanly from the cups.
