Seven-Layer Taco Dip with Tortilla Chips
Course Appetizer
Cuisine Mexican
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Medium serving dish
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

  • Spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom of a medium serving dish.
  • Stir the taco seasoning into the sour cream until fully blended. Spread this mixture over the beans.
  • Spoon the guacamole in an even layer on top of the sour cream.
  • Add the salsa as the next layer and smooth it gently with the back of a spoon.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the salsa.
  • Scatter the diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, and green onions on top.
  • Serve with tortilla chips on the side for dipping.

Notes

Make this dip a few hours ahead so the flavors can settle. Keep it covered in the fridge until the event, then set it out with a fresh bowl of chips nearby. If the salsa seems watery, drain it first to keep the layers neat. Leftovers store well for one day if tightly wrapped.
