Skeleton Bone Parmesan Breadsticks
Course Appetizer
Cuisine Italian
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the pizza dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin rope about 8 inches long.
  • Shape each rope into a bone by pinching and slightly flattening the ends to create knobs.
  • Arrange the shaped dough on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece.
  • Brush the tops evenly with the melted butter.
  • Sprinkle the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and Parmesan cheese over the buttered dough.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the breadsticks turn golden brown.

Notes

For the best bone shape, work with dough that is at room temperature so it stretches without tearing. Serve them arranged on a dark platter to highlight the bone form. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in a 350°F oven for a few minutes to restore crispness.
