Large Mixing Bowl
Pitcher
Stirring Spoon
- 4 cups apple cider
- 1 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
- Apple slices, for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
Pour the apple cider, bourbon, maple syrup, and liquid smoke into a large mixing bowl or pitcher.
Stir steadily until the maple syrup dissolves completely into the liquid.
Add a few handfuls of ice to the bowl if you prefer the drink chilled.
Float apple slices across the top and rest cinnamon sticks along the edge for serving.
Add the liquid smoke a drop at a time and taste as you go, since a small amount goes far. You can mix the base without ice several hours ahead and keep it in the fridge, then transfer to the serving bowl and add garnishes right before guests arrive.
