Rocks Glasses
- 8 ounces reposado tequila
- 4 fresh figs, quartered
- 4 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 8 dashes Angostura bitters
- Ice cubes
- 4 orange twists
Place the quartered figs, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a mixing glass. Muddle until the figs release their juices and the spices blend evenly.
Pour in the reposado tequila and add the bitters. Stir gently to combine the flavors.
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir for 20 seconds until well chilled.
Strain the mixture into four rocks glasses filled with fresh ice cubes.
Twist each orange twist over a glass to release the oils, then drop it in as garnish.
Use ripe but firm figs so the muddling creates a light pulp without turning watery. If the mixture tastes too sweet after stirring, add an extra dash of bitters to balance the brown sugar. Serve right away while the spice aroma stays strong.
