Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Punch Bowl
  • Refrigerator

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 cups ginger ale, chilled
  • Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
  • Orange slices, for garnish

Instructions

  • Place the pumpkin puree, apple cider, orange juice, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until the mixture is completely smooth and no lumps remain.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate the base for at least one hour so the flavors can blend and the drink stays cold.
  • Just before serving, transfer the chilled base to a punch bowl. Slowly pour in the ginger ale and stir gently to combine without losing too much fizz.
  • Add orange slices to float on the surface and place cinnamon sticks in the bowl for guests to use as stirrers.

Notes

Make the spiced base a day ahead and keep it covered in the fridge so you only need to add the ginger ale right before guests arrive. If the punch tastes too sweet, add an extra splash of orange juice to balance it. Skip the ginger ale and serve the base warm over low heat for a hot version on cooler nights.
