Spiderweb Black Bean Dip with Tortilla Chips
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Food processor
Shallow serving bowl
Zip-top bag
- 2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cloves garlic
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Tortilla chips, for serving
Add the black beans, garlic, lime juice, cumin, and salt to a food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Spread the bean mixture evenly into a shallow serving bowl or plate.
Spoon the sour cream into a small zip-top bag and snip off one corner to create a piping tip.
Pipe the sour cream in three or four concentric circles over the dip. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward to form a spiderweb pattern.
Serve right away with tortilla chips on the side.
For the cleanest web design, let the bean mixture sit for a few minutes after blending so it firms up slightly before piping. If you want a bit more flavor, stir a pinch of chili powder into the beans before spreading. Leftovers keep in the fridge for two days in an airtight container, though the web is best made fresh.
