Equipment

  • Baking sheets
  • Rolling pin
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 pound whole-grain pizza dough
  • ¾ cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 450°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough into four equal pieces and roll each into a 6-inch round. Place the rounds on the prepared sheets.
  • Spread 3 tablespoons of pizza sauce over each round, leaving a ½-inch border.
  • Sprinkle ½ cup of mozzarella evenly over the sauce on each pizza.
  • Use the remaining cheese to draw a spiderweb on top of each pizza: make three concentric circles with thin lines of cheese, then add eight short lines from the center outward like spokes.
  • Place two olive slices in the center of each web to form a small spider.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and let the pizzas rest for 2 minutes before slicing.

Notes

If the cheese lines start to melt together during baking, gently reshape them with a knife right after the pizzas come out of the oven. Leftover slices reheat well in a 350°F oven for five minutes to keep the crust crisp. For a milder flavor, swap half the mozzarella for a low-moisture cheese that melts into cleaner lines.
