Course Appetizer
Cuisine Italian
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 1 package (13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 8 equal strips.
  • Tie each strip into a simple knot and place the knots on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Stir the melted butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, and salt together in a small bowl.
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over each knot.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the knots turn golden brown.
  • Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan or microwave while the knots bake.
  • Transfer the baked knots to a serving plate, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and serve with the warm marinara for dipping.

Notes

Brush any leftover garlic butter on the knots right after baking for extra shine and flavor. If the dough feels too sticky while knotting, dust your hands lightly with flour. These knots reheat well in a 350 degree F oven for 5 minutes if made ahead.
