Warm Cinnamon Baked Pears with Mascarpone
Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Small bowl
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 4 medium pears, halved and cored
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Arrange the pear halves cut side up in the prepared dish.
  • Stir together the melted butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl.
  • Brush the mixture evenly over the pears, letting some pool in the centers.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
  • Remove from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  • Spoon a dollop of mascarpone over each pear half and sprinkle with the chopped pecans before serving.

Notes

Choose pears that are ripe but still firm so they hold their shape during baking. Serve the pears while they are still warm so the mascarpone softens slightly on contact. Leftovers reheat gently in a low oven for a few minutes without losing texture.
