Witch Finger Breadsticks with Marinara
Course Appetizer
Cuisine Italian
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 12 whole almonds
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin log about 5 inches long.
  • Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet and use a knife to make small knuckle marks along each log.
  • Brush the logs lightly with olive oil and sprinkle them evenly with garlic powder and dried oregano.
  • Press one almond into the tip of each log to form a fingernail.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the breadsticks turn golden brown.
  • Warm the marinara sauce in a small pot over low heat while the breadsticks bake.
  • Serve the breadsticks warm with the marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Shape the dough logs slightly crooked for a more realistic finger look. If the almonds do not stick well after baking, press them in gently while the breadsticks are still warm. Store any leftovers in an airtight container and reheat them in a 350-degree oven for a few minutes to restore crispness. Skip the oregano if you prefer a milder flavor.
