Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Ramekins
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease four ramekins or oven-safe cups.
  • In a bowl, toss the diced apples with 1/4 cup of the caramel sauce, cinnamon, and salt until evenly coated.
  • Divide the apple mixture among the four prepared cups, pressing it down lightly.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter until the mixture forms clumps.
  • Spoon the crumble evenly over the apples in each cup.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the topping is golden and the apples are soft.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle the remaining 1/4 cup caramel sauce over the warm cups before serving.

Notes

Drizzle the final caramel while the cups are still warm so it soaks slightly into the crumble. If making ahead, bake the cups without the last caramel drizzle, then reheat briefly and add the sauce just before serving to keep the topping crisp. Use a firm apple variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp so the pieces hold their shape after baking.
