Course Dessert
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 4 vanilla cupcakes, baked and cooled
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Green food coloring
  • 8 candy eyeballs
  • 2 tablespoons green sanding sugar

Instructions

  • Place the softened butter in a mixing bowl and beat it until smooth.
  • Add the powdered sugar a little at a time while beating on low speed.
  • Pour in the milk and continue beating until the frosting reaches a thick, spreadable texture.
  • Add several drops of green food coloring and mix until the frosting turns a bright, even green.
  • Spread or pipe a thick layer of the green frosting over each cupcake so it looks like dripping slime.
  • Press two candy eyeballs into the frosting on each cupcake.
  • Sprinkle green sanding sugar over the top of the frosting for extra sparkle.

Notes

Make the frosting a day ahead and store it in the fridge, then let it soften slightly before spreading. Add an extra drop of food coloring if the color fades after mixing. Keep finished cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for one day or in the fridge for up to three days.
