Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Dish

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 (5-ounce) cans tuna, drained
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a medium baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook until just tender, then drain and return them to the pot.
  • Stir the cream of mushroom soup and milk into the noodles until the mixture is smooth and evenly coated.
  • Add the drained tuna, frozen peas, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until everything is combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
  • Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until the sauce is bubbling and the breadcrumbs are lightly golden.

Notes

Press the breadcrumbs gently into the surface before baking so they stay in place when serving. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheat best with a small splash of milk stirred in to restore creaminess. If the peas are added straight from the freezer they stay bright and do not turn mushy during baking.
