Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Small saucepan
  • Pastry brush

Ingredients

  • 8 slider buns
  • 12 ounces sliced cooked turkey
  • ¾ cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups turkey gravy

Instructions

  • Heat the oven to 350°F. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  • Layer the sliced turkey evenly across the buns. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the turkey in small dollops.
  • Lay the provolone slices on top of the cranberry sauce, then replace the top halves of the buns.
  • Brush the melted butter over the tops of the buns.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese has melted and the tops turn lightly golden.
  • While the sliders bake, warm the turkey gravy in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it is hot and smooth.
  • Remove the sliders from the oven, cut them apart, and serve with the warm gravy for dipping.

Notes

Assemble the sliders up to a day ahead, cover, and refrigerate, then add the butter and bake just before serving so the tops stay crisp. Warm the gravy right before the sliders come out of the oven so it stays fluid for dipping. If the cranberry sauce is very thick, stir in a teaspoon of water to make it easier to spread.
