Vampire Garlic Pull-Apart Bread with Marinara
Course Appetizer
Cuisine American
Servings 4 people

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Serrated knife

Ingredients

  • 1 round loaf of crusty bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, parsley, and salt until evenly mixed.
  • Place the loaf on the baking sheet. Use a serrated knife to score the bread in a grid pattern, cutting down almost to the bottom but not through.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture into the cuts, working it between the sections as evenly as possible.
  • Wrap the loaf loosely in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap and bake 5 more minutes until the top is lightly golden.
  • Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Serve it in a bowl alongside the bread for dipping.

Notes

Reheat leftovers in a 350 degree F oven for 8 minutes to restore the crisp crust. Fresh garlic gives the strongest flavor, so skip jarred minced garlic. If the loaf is very large, cut a few extra scores to help the butter reach the center.
